Travel Awards

The 2018 Fall Voice Program Committee is pleased to announce the WINNERS of 8 - $500 Travel Awards. The awards are being generously provided by the Laryngology Educational Foundation and the National Spasmodic Dysphonia Association.

Laryngology Education Foundation Travel Grants:
  • Allison Ikeda, MD, Resident – Emory University/University of Washington presenting: “Reproducibility of High Resolution Pharyngeal Manometry Measures in the Study of Dysphagia

In collaboration with the NSDA, Fall Voice Week is proud to announce 4 awards from the NSDA to be given to the following Dystonia related papers at Fall Voice Conference.

National Spasmodic Dysphonia Association Travel Grants:
  • Julie Barkmeir-Kraemer, PhD, CCC-SLP – University of Utah presenting: “Distinguishing features of vocal tremor associated with Parkinson Disease, Spasmodic dysphonia, and Essential Tremor.
  • Wenli Chen, MS, CCC-SLP – Mayo Clinic presenting: “Does Voice Onset Aid in the Diagnosis of Adductor Spasmodic Dysphonia?
  • Richard Heyes, MBChB, MRCS – Mayo Clinic, Arizona presenting: “The role of gender on the outcome of botulinum neurotoxin injection in patients with adductor Spasmodic Dysphonia
  • Christopher Honey, Dphil, FRCSC, FACS – Vancouver General Hospital/UBC presenting: “The Neurosurgical Treatment of Spasmodic Dysphonia: Preliminary results of a Prospective, Randomized, Sham-Controlled (DEBUSSY) Trial.
